  • Wisc Suite Workshop
    • Instructor: Tracy Steffens
    • Monday: Jan. 23, 12pm - 1pm
    • Sunday: Feb. 12, 12:30pm - 1:30pm
    • Are you tired of WiscMail deleting message, even though you changed your settings? Want to learn how to customize your MyUW page? Want to sync your WiscMail and WiscCal to your Smart Phone? Then this workshop is for you! Come with your questions and you will get your answers!
  • LibraryThing Workshop
    • Instructor: Yuqi He
    • Wednesday: Jan. 25, 12pm - 1pm
    • Sunday: Feb. 5, 12:30pm - 1:30pm
    • LibraryThing is the main site for all people to share their books, and LibraryThing for Libraries (LTFL) is a product for libraries to boost their existing library systems. Come to the workshop to learn the functions of LibraryThing as personal cataloging, social cataloging, and social networking and do some hands-on exercises with LibraryThing!
  • Ipad/Kindle Petting Zoo Workshop
    • Instructor: Cate Redman & Kelsey Johnson
    • Thursday, Jan. 26, 12pm - 1pm
    • Kindles and Nooks and iPads, oh my! Come to the eReader Petting Zoo to learn about the different features and functions of today's most popular eReading devices, and test them out for yourself.
  • Dreamweaver Workshop

    • Sunday, Feb. 12, 3:30pm - 4:30pm
    • Adobe Dreamweaver is an easy-to-learn web development tool. This workshop provides opportunities for you to create a simple webpage. You will also learn how to publish your webpages via My WebSpace.
  • Readers' Advisory Workshop
    • Instructor: Kelsey Johnson
    • Wednesday, Feb. 1, 12pm - 1pm
    • Sunday, Feb. 5, 2:30pm - 3:30pm
    • Ever wonder how to find that next perfect book for Twilight or Harry Potter fans? In Reader's Advisory Online, you'll be introduced to different online tools you can use to match your patrons with books they'll love.
  • BadgerLink Workshop
    • Instructor: Cate Redman
    • Thursday, Feb. 2, 12pm - 1pm
    • Sunday, Feb. 12, 1:30pm - 2:30pm
    • Wonder how you'll provide quality online information for patrons once you're beyond the walls of UW? Come learn about BadgerLink, the state Department of Public Instruction's suite of online databases available to all Wisconsin residents.
  • Koha Workshop
    • Instructor: Rachel Williams

    • Introduction: Koha is an open source integrated library system (or ILS) used by a variety of institutions, including academic, public, and special libraries. Come to this workshop to gain familiarity with the history, background, basic features, and functionality of Koha.
  • Jing Workshop

    • Jing is a simple and free program that allows you to enhance your online conversations and collaborations. Come to this workshop to learn how to create images and videos of what you see on your computer screen, then share them instantly!
  • Mendeley Workshop
    • Instructor: Jonathan Carlson
    • Wednesday, Feb. 8, 12pm - 1pm
    • Sunday, Feb. 12, 2:30pm - 3:30pm
    • Is searching for the same articles and citations over and over getting old? If so, come to this workshop on Mendeley. Mendeley is a free reference manager and academic social network that can help you organize your research, collaborate with others online, and discover the latest research. Be sure to bring your laptop to this workshop to download and learn to use this valuable resource!
  • Overdrive Workshop
    • Instructor: Erinn Batykerfer
    • Thursday, Feb. 9, 12pm - 1pm
    • The Overdrive workshop is a good follow-up to the E-reserves / Petting Zoo Workshop, but can also stand alone. Participants will learn how to download e-books onto a variety of e-readers using the WCPL Overdrive hub. Pros and Cons of downloading to different devices will also be discussed, and helpful handouts will guide you through the steps when you practice at home. This workshop will largely consist of demonstration, but participants are encouraged to bring their own e-readers and public library cards for some hands-on practice.
