About the UW-Madison SLIS Alumni AssociationThe SLIS Alumni Association is a network of more than 4,000 alumni of the UW-Madison School of Library and Information Studies. The SLIS Alumni Association facilitates networking opportunities for alumni, enhances the education and training of students, and provides advocacy, financial, and professional support to SLIS. All UW-Madison SLIS alumni are automatically members of the SLIS Alumni Association. Anyone currently or previously enrolled in SLIS classes, or who is interested in libraries or librarianship can become an affiliate. Each year, the SLIS Alumni Association confers the Distinguished Alumna/Alumnus Award upon an alumna or alumnus of SLIS in recognition of outstanding leadership and accomplishment in library service. The SLIS Alumni Association also awards scholarships to SLIS students.
