Employment Resources for Students

There is a wealth of student employment and work study opportunities on campus and in the Madison Area. In addition to the job notices sent to your email by the Student Services Coordinator be sure to investigate the following resources:

Campus library employment information can be found on the UW-Madison Libraries web page: http://www.library.wisc.edu/jobs/

U.S. students should contact Student Financial Services to qualify for work study funding. http://www.finaid.wisc.edu/ Many of the libraries on campus and in the state agencies prefer to hire Work Study Students first.

Some sources of Non-Library employment that can support master's program costs:

The UW-Madison Office of Human Resources web site for unclassified positions:

The State of Wisconsin Employment web site

It is strongly recommended that students get as much library work experience as they can while enrolled in school. This greatly enhances employment prospects after graduation. Student who must maintain full time employment in non-library settings should plan to incorporate more than one practicum option in their electives and a field placement class in their master's program.
